Artist Statement:
I am a first-generation Mexican immigrant. I was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, in 1992, and my family came to the United States in 1994. My father has been a construction worker for the past 30 years in Las Vegas, NV, and my mother at a fast-food restaurant.
The steps immigrants take in life are challenging. They require sacrifice and hard work. My artwork honors my parents' courage. They traveled to a foreign land to provide a better life, leaving their hopes and dreams to give me a better opportunity.
I have the privilege of being able to pursue my passion for Arts, and with their courage, I will always advocate for the immigrant dream. Thank you, Mama/Papa, and I hope to make you proud.
